James has nearly 30 years of extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, with functional expertise spanning Human Resources Management, Administration, IT, Government Affairs, and Public Relations within multinational corporations (MNCs), as well as large, medium, and small-sized pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
Prior to joining Asieris Pharmaceuticals, James served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Abogen Biosciences, where he led the establishment of the corporate culture, leadership model, and performance management system.
As Executive Director of Human Resources at Junshi Biosciences, James successfully managed the rapid expansion of the HR system to support organizational growth from 400 to 3,000 employees and optimized the organizational structure. Previously he held the position of Senior Human Resources Director at Hengrui Pharmaceuticals, where he developed the competency model for the R&D system, supporting a team of nearly 2,400 R&D professionals.
As the first Chinese employee and HR Head at Johnson & Johnson (Suzhou) Medical Devices, James established the HR department and team from the ground up and supported the business unit in establishing the DePuy Orthopaedics production base, part of the global supply chain, from scratch.
James holds a Bachelor’s degree in Automatic Control and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He also holds an MBA degree from CEIBS.
